Food & Sample menu

Food is the essential fuel for life. Good nutrition provides the building blocks for healthy minds and bodies. Mealtimes provide an opportunity to learn essential social skills: listening, talking and sharing, as well as motor skills with cutlery usage.
Food offers an opportunity to “taste” other cultures. Menus featuring dishes from around the world: From Scotch broth to dhal, latkes to pilaffs, enable our children to develop inquisitive, educated palates.
By planning our menus with an emphasis on seasonal foods we teach our children about the cycle of the seasons and how our food is grown. In addition, by not regularly relying on the use of air freighted produce we do our bit to minimize the impact of pollutants.
Our commitment to excellence extends to all areas of our nursery. We focus on minimizing the levels of antibiotics, growth promoters and pesticides your child will ingest whilst in our care. To this end we only buy products that are of the highest quality including organic, free range, farm assured and fair trade goods, depending on supply.
We have fruit, vegetable and herb gardens designed to be accessible to the children and your child will have the opportunity to take part in regular, supervised cookery sessions using ingredients they have sown, tended and harvested.
The maxim “You are what you eat” applies to all ages. Food should be delicious and nutritious. We believe that the quality of food your child consumes is as important as our caring and teaching provision.
